Most people would say: “A school is a place where you go to LEARN.” So far so good. But what do you actually remember from what you LEARNED in school?
Think about it. This is a serious question.
The same thing happened to us. We realized we remember little or nothing beyond the experiences we had with classmates. The method didn’t work for us. That’s where the idea came from: What if we created a school where students REALLY learn?
This is our challenge, our commitment, and our responsibility as educators: a school where learning is REAL and FOR LIFE.
We don’t know what schools of the future will be like, or how the children of that time will be. And most likely, we won’t be there to see it. That’s why we prefer to talk about the school of the present—a school that analyzes today’s needs to build tomorrow.
